1100: MTB102 Faramir, Centaur & Victor alongside Halfpenny Pier and open to the public

1200: Lifeboat exercise off Halfpenny Pier

1230: Gig race start off Halfpenny Pier

1300: Model Boat demonstration off Harwich Quay

1330: Lifeboat exercise off Halfpenny Pier

1430: The Duck Race off Harwich Quay

1500: Judging of best dressed vessel

1530: Lifeboat spectacular off Halfpenny Pier

1600: Sailing dinghy race start off Halfpenny Pier

1615: Sail past of Faramir, Centaur & Victor

During the afternoon, an HHA pilot boat will be open to the public for viewing ,on Halfpenny Pier subject to ferry arrivals.

There will be a fire tug display during the afternoon subject to operational requirements.

RNLI Events ashore

The RNLI Boathouse will be open to the public throughout the day so why not call in, meet the crew and visit the boats.

Cream Teas are being served from 11 to 4 in the RNLI Boathouse.

There will be an opportunity to buy ducks on Halfpenny Pier for the Duck Race which takes place at 1430.

Take a photograph at our new fun seaside posing board.

Watch out also for the inflatable Shannon Class lifeboat located outside the Pier Hotel.

Stormy Stan will be at the Sea Festival.

 

There will be a variety of static displays near the RNLI Boathouse, featuring:

RNLI Beach and Sea Safety Team.

RNLI Flood Rescue.

RNLI Face to Face team.

Harwich Haven Authority.

Boat building displayby International Boatbuilding Training College, Lowestoft.

Net Making demonstration.

Vintage Rolls Royce cars.

Trinity House will have a static display at the entrance to their buoy yard.

Best Dressed Vessel Competition

When vessels on Halfpenny Pier are dressed overall, it adds to our very special Sea Festival spirit, so all boat owners are welcome to join in the fun.

A competition will take place at 1500, and the vessel judged to be best dressed overall will be awarded a bottle of rum, kindly donated by Rob & Teresa of The Hanover Inn.

 

Additional Information

The First Aid area will be located at the Lifeboat house located at the end of the Quay.

All public announcements will be made from within the Lifeboat house.
